What Do Bed Bugs Look Like?
Bedbugs are tiny blood-sucking insects that are usually found in the crevices and cracks in your bedding or mattresses. They can be found anywhere, from homes, hotels to hostel dorms. They have a flat and oval shaped body structure. The color of a bedbug depends on its age. The adult bedbugs are usually brown. The color reddens once they have fed. Bedbug sizes vary from 2.5 to 5mm. The closest structure resemblances are fleas and ticks. They do not have wings; however, the adults possess winged vestiges that do not support flying.
Where Do Bed Bugs Live?
Bedbugs are nocturnal creatures. They are reclusive and very tiny. They are so fast, you may not see them loitering over your bed sheets.
On the contrary, you may start getting signs that your bed is infested with this creature. If you find reddish and rusty stains on your sheets and mattresses, your bed may be the home to some of these blood-sucking insects. You need to check below your bedding, headboards, and footboards, inside the bed frames, inside the piping of your sheet, in-between zippers of your cushions and pillows, and in-between all the crevices. You must also examine your bedside tables and drawers, as bedbugs tend to hide in places where they are not easily visible.
It is advisable that if you find these flat reddish insects under your bed, you need to contact pest control right away!
